Quest24

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about pricing, groups, and how a quest actually works.

What exactly is Quest24?
Quest24 is a real-world quest you play outdoors: you walk between real locations, examine buildings, signs and details around you, solve riddles and uncover a story. It runs right in your phone's browser, with nothing to install.
Do I need to download an app?
No. The whole game runs in your phone's browser. Everyone in your group joins from their own phone with a short game code. No downloads, and no accounts needed for the players who join.
How much does it cost, and who pays?
One ticket covers your whole group: you pay once per quest, not per person. The price is shown on each quest's page. One person buys the quest, gets a game code, and shares it with everyone else, who join for free.
How many people can play together?
Each quest shows its recommended group size on its page (for example, 2-6 players). You can play together as one team, or split into up to 4 teams and race each other on the same route (in quests that support Competition mode).
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. There's no guide and no fixed schedule: buy whenever you want and start whenever you're ready. Once you start the game, your code stays valid for 24 hours, so you play entirely at your own pace.
How long does a quest take, and how far do we walk?
A typical quest takes about 45-90 minutes along a compact walking route. The exact duration and distance are shown on each quest's page. There's no time limit pressure beyond the 24-hour validity (counted from the moment you start playing, not from purchase), so breaks for coffee or ice cream are absolutely recommended.
What happens right after I pay?
You get a game code and a lobby opens for your group. Share the code (or a link / QR) with your friends on WhatsApp, and everyone joins from their own phone. When you're all at the starting point, the group leader taps "Start" and the adventure begins. Your purchase is always waiting under "My Games".
What if we get stuck on a riddle?
Every riddle has two built-in hints you can reveal (each costs a few points from your score), and if you're really stuck you can skip a riddle (for a small extra score penalty) and keep going. Getting stuck never ends your game.
What if my phone loses signal or the battery dies?
Your progress is saved automatically as you play. If a page refreshes, the browser closes or you switch phones, just enter your code again with the same user you joined with, and you'll continue exactly where you left off, any time within the 24-hour window. That's exactly why we strongly recommend that every participant signs in rather than joining as a guest: a signed-in player can re-join from any device (see the next question).
Should we join as guests or sign in?
Both work: a game code is all anyone needs to join. But a guest identity lives only on the specific phone and browser it was created on. If that phone dies, loses its browser data or you want to switch devices mid-game, a guest can't get back in as themselves. A signed-in player can re-join from any device, any time. So our honest recommendation: everyone signs in. It takes a few seconds and protects your progress.
Does the game need my location?
Yes, GPS is part of the game. The app uses your location to confirm you've reached each station before the riddle unlocks, so you'll need to allow location access in your browser and play outdoors where GPS works well.
Is it suitable for kids?
Quests are designed to be light and fun for mixed groups, and kids often love being the navigators. Under-18s play with an accompanying adult. Check each quest's page for its recommended ages and difficulty.
What about rain or bad weather?
The game happens outdoors, so weather matters. Your code's 24-hour clock only starts when you press "Start", so if the sky opens up before you begin, simply wait and start later. If weather ruins a game you already started, contact us at support@quest24.app and we'll help.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Our cancellation and refund policy is available here. If something went wrong with your purchase or your game, write to us at support@quest24.app. We're happy to help.
How do I get help during a game?
Every riddle screen has hints, a skip option, and a "Something wrong? Report it" link for on-the-spot issues (a blocked path, a missing clue). For anything else, email support@quest24.app.
